The Most Important Day

In the book “D-Day”, the author, Antony Beevor, will tell you about the stories of soldiers that fought in WW II, from 1939 through 1945.  You will also learn more about the history of WWII. This book will teach you about hard times and learning to trust people that you will work with for years to come.
This book is much like the book”World War II”. It tells you about the hard life of some soldiers in the war. It will also tell you about the stories of veterans of the war and soldiers that are in the war now in Iraq. Some of this book will teach you the tactics of the enemy and America’s tactics. Also it will give you some of the journals that some of the soldiers had written in the war to their families.
WWII was one of the most frightening battles in US history. Everyone that had a relative that was in the war can relate to the pain of those who fought in WWII. Both countries in the end regretted that either country started that war. There was over 6 million casualties in WWII and could have been prevented.
My grandpa was in WWII so I can relate to those people who were scared for the loved ones in the war. My grandpa told me stories of how he was saved by a little Chinese boy in Omaha after he was shot and got left behind by his whole platoon. Then he told me how when he went up onto the beach and most of his friends got shot while he just stared and watched. When he said that he left he wished it was him down dead on that beach and not his friends.
That is why I want anyone who has a friend or family in the war or was in the war to read this book.
