In Touching Sprit Bear Cole is a troubled boy dealing
with problems with the law and everyone else around him. Because of his actions
he is sent to North Western Alaska for a year on his own by a program called
The Circle Justice. The Circle Justice is a program where they help people to realize
what bad they have done and help them correct that. In the process he meets a
Native Indian legend called Sprite Bear.To survive the Alaskan wilderness Cole
must listen to the sprite bear and admit to what pain and suffering he has
caused others. Also to take responsibility for his actions.
Not only did the bear attack him but I
also think he taught him a lesson because Cole believed that it was other
peoples fault that made him do this not his own. To survive the Alaskan wilderness Cole must
listen to the bear and admit to what pain he has caused others and take
responsibility for his actions.
I think that Cole learn from the bear that you have to play
the cards that you are dealt. Also he needs to forgive and forget because if he
had done these things maybe he wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place.
I think that this would also affect Peter who he bullied as well, after he attacked him in
the parking lot at school. It could also affect his classmates to thinking and
believing that Cole is not only a better person but has a better soul. I think
that I can relate Cole in another book that I had read, it is called The Hunger
Games. Because in that book Katniss takes responsibility of being a older
sibling because she volunteers for her sister in the Reaping for the Hunger
Games.
